HEC Paris in Qatar's first EMBA Convocation Celebration

182 participants attended HEC Paris in Qatar programs (custom and open-enrolment courses) in 2011

 
 
 

On 7 May 2012, the first intake of participants of the HEC Paris in Qatar international Executive MBA (EMBA) program graduated at a ceremony attended by Dean Bernard Ramanantsoa.

The event – held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, who was also present – was a celebration in honor of the 31 participants of HEC Paris in Qatar’s EMBA ‘class of 2012’.

In addition to celebrating the EMBA participants’ graduation, the evening also recognized and aimed to create a sense of community for all 182 participants who attended HEC Paris in Qatar programs (custom and open-enrolment courses) this year.

Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris, opened the ceremony with a speech in which he thanked Her Highness for her patronage of the evening and for the ongoing support that she has shown HEC Paris in Qatar both in a personal capacity, but also as Chair of the Qatar Foundation.

A number of experts and officials involved with HEC Paris in Qatar also spoke during the ceremony, including Maintenance Assets Manager of Qatargas, Jassim al-Mohannadi who represented the graduating class, as well as the CEO of Qtel Group, Nasser Marafih and the President of Total E&P in the Middle East, Arnaud Breuillac.

Development of case studies in Qatar

Bernard Ramanantsoa announced that HH Sheikha Moza had approved the creation of a seed research fund to support the development of case studies in Qatar, meaning that both students in Qatar and business schools around the world will use examples from Qatar as part of their teaching experience.
